Visions, surprises and lots of love.

Ever feel like the planets have aligned in some perfect sort of way creating a perfect chain of events? Yeah, that's what happened to me last month.

Since 1994, and for whatever reason, I've always had some sort of fondness for this tree lined path. Over the years, I've had a vision of a photograph I wanted to take there. It was one of those things where I'd pass the area, it would cross my mind, and I'd be onto something else before I put anything into action.  A few months ago, i was driving by, and told myself- that's it, I'm going to find someone to go there with me and make this happen. I was ready.

A few days pass.   Enter M.  

I photographed M. and S. last Spring after the birth of their first angel baby.  Anyhow, M. calls and says he wants to surprise S. with a photoshoot for a Christmas present.  Love it.  Excited to participate, and honored be part of the gift :),  I asked what location he had in mind for the shoot. I thought for sure, given the weather, he'd say he wanted it at their home.  Planets aligned, M. says he wants to do something different and  "have anything in mind?" 

There you have it. An amazing morning with an AMAZING couple and one angel baby A.  Thanks M.and A. for braving the elements. Thanks for being so open and willing to share in front of the lens. Thanks for being you. Cheers and Happy Holidays.

Tis' the season...

Busy season that is. Life is great on this end- a lot of comings and goings- shoots and pick-ups and round the clock art making.  The winter grey Chicago sky is here and I'm again reminded how quickly it settles in during the month of November. The older I get the faster the time goes. Or is it the more kids I've had the faster the minutes pass?

Thanks to everyone that came to the opening of my latest fine art series entitled Drive-by's and Lonely Places.  It was great hanging out with new and old friends.  Jennifer, are you sure you can't remember how to do my hair EXACTLY like that again????  Whatever you do- it's brilliant :)

Sometimes it's just so hard to choose...

which images to post. One of the things I enjoy most about my work as a photographer, is that there are always things I find I really like about each and every person I photograph. So, like most people ordering images, sometimes it's hard for me to choose too.

These kids were awesome to say the least. Here are a few for you C., until I see you in the morning :)

Having fun on the job.

I so loved photographing M.   As always, hard to pick which to feature- but I chose these because 1. I loved everything about the way she dances, and 2. she's incredibly soulful and I feel like the two below reflect that side of her.
